Convert time zones
Compare a local date and time across major cities.
Convert a time between locations
Choose the original date, time and time zone, then select the destination zone. The converter shows the corresponding local time and whether the calendar date changes.
Why location-based zones are better than abbreviations
Abbreviations such as CST or IST can refer to more than one zone. Location-based names such as Europe/Madrid or America/New_York are clearer and can apply the daylight-saving rules for the selected date.
Time-zone rules can change when governments alter UTC offsets or daylight-saving schedules. The international IANA Time Zone Database is updated periodically to reflect those changes.
Common uses

Frequently asked questions
Does the converter account for daylight saving time?
It uses the browser’s available time-zone data for the selected date. Very recent rule changes may require an updated browser or operating system.
Why can the result be on the previous or next day?
Large UTC-offset differences can move the local time across midnight.
Should I use UTC for important coordination?
UTC is useful as a neutral reference, but participants normally still need the equivalent local time.
