Calculate the difference between dates
See the elapsed time in several useful formats.
Measure the time between two dates
Enter a start date and an end date to see the calendar difference and total elapsed days. This is useful for deadlines, contracts, travel plans, project schedules and personal milestones.
Calendar difference versus total days
A calendar result such as 1 year, 2 months and 3 days follows actual month lengths. Total days gives one continuous count. Both can be correct while expressing the interval differently.
Inclusive and exclusive counting
Most date-difference calculations measure elapsed time and do not count both boundary dates as full days. For bookings, legal deadlines or payroll, confirm whether the specific rule uses inclusive counting, business days or calendar days.
Frequently asked questions
Are weekends included?
Yes. The standard total includes all calendar days unless a tool specifically calculates business days.
Why do months have different day totals?
Months range from 28 to 31 days, so calendar-month differences cannot be represented by one fixed number of days.
Can I calculate a person’s age?
Use the Age Calculator for a birth-date-specific result.
